On June 21, Ottawa Magazine welcomed over 100 guests to the Mondeau showroom to celebrate the start of summer and the launch of our water-themed summer issue. Guests enjoyed tastes from the pages of the magazine, including gelato from Stella Luna, sushi from New Generation and Steak & Sushi, strawberry scones from The SconeWitch, and savoury delights from Chef Bruce of Beau’s. Beau’s also poured their latest craft beers, while Jack’s Tonique, North of 7 Distillery and Split Tree Cocktail Co. kept guests hydrated with custom cocktails including the signature O-Mag Sea Hag!
Guests mingled with writers, editors, art directors, and even the cover model (a mermaid!) and The Loft Urban Salon provided free hair styling for anyone looking for a mermaid braid. Guests could also try their luck at pulling a winning shell from under the sea. The evening wrapped up with publisher Dianne Wing announcing the winners of nearly two dozen raffle prizes, including dinner with Ottawa Magazine’s restaurant critic Anne DesBrisay, gift certificates to our cover shoot location, Le Spa Nordik, and a signed print of our cover image from Photolux Studios.
