An orphaned woman, Matchstick, comes from sad upbringings in an undesirable country. Her life quite tragic, until one day, seemingly, her hardships will be left behind her as a mysterious and charming American man promises her a new start in the land of opportunity and freedom. However, it’s not long until she finds herself trapped in a way she could never have anticipated – the wife of a very notorious man.
The powerful folk musical by Nathan Howe premiers tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 21, at 8 p.m. Tickets starting at $24. Matchstick will show until January 31, check the GCTC’s website for details.

Ottawa Urban Sketchers at the Museum of Nature
Are you an artist? Architect? Designer? Or, perhaps, someone who doodles on the corner of a notepad when you’re bored? Join Urban Sketchers, who aim to raise the artistic, storytelling and educational value of location drawing, are holding a meet up from 5 to 8 p.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 21 at the Museum of Nature. Meet-ups are free and open to sketchers of all ages and proficiency.
