And coming up on Tuesday, Oct. 2, you have a chance to take part in their very first brewmaster’s dinner! Led by Lon Ladell, the four-course meal will be paired with Big Rig libations. Highlights include cheddar and ale soup, braised short ribs and chocolate cake paired with their Organic Raspberry Ale. The night also includes brewery tours, prizes, and gift bags. Ooo! Tickets to this exclusive event are limited, so act fast! They cost $100 and can be purchased at the brewery or by clicking HERE.
NAMED!
Last time we met, we were going on and on about all the Oktoberfest happenings in the area. Well, don’t forget they’re happening this weekend!
Of note, however, are the three one-off beers HogsBack Brewing Co. cooked up for the occasion in collaboration with the Ashton Brewing Company. They held a contest to name the beers, and the winners were announced earlier this week. So, make sure you head out to taste Wunder-Barrhaven Brown, LederHoser Pumpkin Ale and Wendy-Weiss – they are only available this weekend at Oktoberfest Ottawa.
A LITRE OF FUN
Although based in Toronto, Steam Whistle, the purveyors of one fine pilsner, want to ensure we get in on all of their Oktoberfest fun. So, they’re offering their one-litre stein at Royal Oak locations. It’s a hefty glass – you might need two hands to drink from it! – and will make quite the statement on your office table. Mmm…office beer.
