“Orange is the new blue,” according to chef Ben Baird, who is back in business at Albert and O’Connor this week with a sleek new truck wrapped in a chic orange and black urban design. Ottawa Streat Gourmet fans have been counting the days since the old truck inconveniently bit the dust in mid-April just as the food-truck season was getting going.

Thursday is Rice Bowl Day, with shrimp, pickerel, and pork rice bowls on the menu, all served on gingered rice and with a bok choy salad. But we’re holding out for Friday burger day.

City Bites Hot Tip: Pony up the extra $4-$5 and grab a dessert to go. The chef makes a decadent pudding. You won’t be hungry for a while, but when you do start to feel peckish, you’ll thank us for this recommendation.
