City Bites Hot Tip: Whet your appetite! Perth’s summertime Walking Food Tour launches Saturday, May 14

Here we are, all proud of our measly 150th birthday in 2017 when just down the road, the town of Perth is a whopping 200 years old this year! One of the celebratory events is a two-hour guided food tour (Saturdays at 1 p.m., May 14 – June 25), a pleasant stroll that takes in a bit of history, a bit of scenery, and visits to at least a half dozen restaurants, pubs, and bakeries, with sampling at each stop. Each tour is limited to 16 participants, so there’s ample opportunity to quiz the guide — and Perth’s best chefs and bakers — about all things food and drink as you tour the town with your tastebuds. $30 per person. Reserve ahead at 1-613-267-1947.

City Bites Hot Tips: Don’t eat lunch! Do bring a cooler so you can stock up on edible discoveries. Do arrive a bit early and visit the downtown Perth Farmers’ Market (open Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.).
