HEADS UP – Xmas Lights on Parliament Hill & Handmade for the Holidays

What’s going on WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 2

Christmas Lights Across Canada
Balancing BeaverTail in one hand, hot chocolate in the other, the Victoria Tower bell on Parliament Hill tolls at 7 p.m. signalling the launch of the 31st edition of Christmas Lights Across Canada and the start of the holiday season in the Capital. Parliament Hill in particular will be the backdrop for a new winter lightscapes multimedia projection show presented for the first time during the ceremony. Some of the best places to experience the lights include: the front lawn of Parliament Hill, Confederation Square, and the Alexandra Bridge. Enjoy the BeaverTails and hot chocolate for free! while supplies last; a live performance by Measha Brueggergosman and the Ottawa Regional Youth Choir; and an amazing pyrotechnic show.
90 Wellington St., 1-844-878-8333.

Handmade Holiday
Don’t be a Grinch – get in touch with your inner elf. Head to the fourth annual Handmade Holiday tomorrow Wednesday, Dec. 2 at Pourboy and participate in the making of four crafts for $15 that you can gift (or keep, we won’t tell). Stop by any time between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m., and join in the fun. All proceeds from the event will go to supporting local musicians performing at the Ravenswing – a volunteer-run, self-sustaining grassroots collective that supports and promotes arts, music, and community in Centretown.
Pourboy, 495 Somerset St. W.
