The Creativision & Hintonburg Happening’s Holiday Sweater Celebration
Forget door-to-door carolling, this is your opportunity to take your Ugly Christmas Sweater judging from storefront-to-storefront. On Thursday, Dec. 17 at 7 p.m., join Hintonburg Happening and Creativision and check out the participating storefronts in Hintonburg – cast your vote for the Most Decorative, Ugliest Overall, and Largest Sweater.

Starting in the west end of Wellington Street, meet at Bridgehead (1277 Wellington Street at Caroline), then head east towards The Hintonburg Public House (1020 Wellington Street). There, the winners will be revealed and all can participate in Christmas merriment – and maybe have a drink or two. See Facebook for more details.

Pop up vintage sale and party
Solid vintage shops Certified Vintage Goods & Allegro Retro are putting together a pop-up event for Thursday Dec. 17 from 5 to 9 p.m. Men’s, woman’s and household vintage – an opportunity to find a fabulous NYE outfit or a the perfect piece to finish off your table settings. Held in the old Bang-On space on top of the Dominion Tavern in the Byward Market. Refreshments will be served and prizes to be won. Follow the event on Facebook.

Coffee house for Main Street Community Services
Kanata coffee drinkers – listen up! Starbucks in the Kanata Centrum is holding their annual coffee house, supporting Main Street Community Services, a non-profit organization helping people with developmental and physical disabilities.

On Thursday Dec. 17 from 6 to 9 p.m., there will be performances by the cheerful baristas and other local performers of all ages. The goal is to raise $1000 – help out and head over for live music, samples, and raffles with amazing prizes (a crazy horse gift card, cosmetics basket, popcorn vouchers, + more)
