President Obama is coming to Ottawa for a live onstage interview that is sure to captivate audiences and leave them feeling hopeful about the future.
Barack Obama was the 44th president of the United States, and the country’s first African-American president. This will be the first visit to the nation’s capital since his time as president.
Since he left office two years ago, Barack Obama has continued to be an icon around the world, meeting with world leaders and championing causes such as climate change and affordable health care. Just two weeks ago, his production company revealed details about seven productions to be released through Netflix. And there’s his much-anticipated memoir expected in 2020.
But until the book comes out, the event on May 31 is a chance to catch the energy of the 44th president.
Obama will sit down for an engaging interview, spreading a message of civic engagement, community leadership, and tolerance.
The event is hosted by Canada 2020, an independent, progressive think-tank that has been hosting events and starting conversations about Canada’s future since it was founded in 2006.
An evening with President Obama promises to shine a positive light on traditionally grim politics, inspire big-picture thinking, and simply entertain.
