Thanksgiving may be in the past but that doesn’t mean the season of giving is over just yet. Start sifting through your closets and dresser drawers, because on October 28 and 29 there’s a clothing drive with a twist happening right in the heart of Little Italy.
Vincent is a women’s boutique owned by sisters, Angie and Amanda Cambareri. Their shop focuses on making women feel good about themselves – not just looking pretty, but feeling pretty as well.
They’ll be collaborating with Dress for Success Ottawa (DFS) on a two-day clothing drive where people can donate gently-used clothes and receive a discount to use on purchases at Vincent.
Since 2011, Ottawa’s Dress for Success has been working to give confidence to women who are preparing for job interviews and employment through what they wear and how they present themselves.
Want to be a part of it? Then open up your closet!
Theresa Smith of DFS Ottawa says that when it comes to figure out what’s worth donating, ask yourself if you would wear it to an interview.
“We require gently used, interview-appropriate clothing for our clients. We accept clothing, footwear, jewellery, accessories and outerwear. Anything that would be helpful for our client to get ready for her upcoming interviews – we dress all of our clients head to toe!” says Smith.
Vincent is offering a special discount to members of the community who donate clothing at the drive, so you can be sure to re-stock your closet with some chic new items.
The clothing drive will take place this Friday and Saturday, October 28th and 29th at the Vincent Boutique at 444 Preston St. Monetary donations are also accepted online at Dress for Success Ottawa.
