Giving someone something you bought is nice. Giving them something you made (an actual piece of workmanship that is, save the macaroni creations for the kids) is even better. The DIY Style Co. will show you how with instructional sessions teaching you to create home accessories, wedding decor, jewellery, and other lovely trinkets. Caroline Eyvindson and Gemma Bonham-Carter, who run the show, are passionate about style and design and wanted to share some of their tips and tricks through their workshops. In their inaugural workshop earlier this year, participants learned how to make three different styles of necklaces step-by-step and left with their three handmade masterpieces to bring home.
All materials are included in the cost of the workshop. Come solo or bring some friends – it’s a perfect girls’ night occasion. Two holiday themed workshops are being hosted in the near future:
- Nov. 19, 2015 (6:30-9 p.m.): Christmas gift workshop — Make three wood slice ornaments, two leather luggage tags, and three hand-painted ceramic jewellery bowls
- Nov. 27, 2015 (6:30-9 p.m.): Christmas decor workshop — Make wreaths, a bunting, and an advent calendar
Head to the website for details on other available workshops.
