At SHOP TALK, we love street style. Every time we meet to plan content, it’s on our to-do list. But anyone who has tried it knows street style photography is hard. The fashion equivalent of ‘streeters’, it involves long hours lingering on busy corners, hoping praying the most fashion forward people in the city will pass you by. (Plus, we’re not that savvy with a camera, and asking such fashion-forward people to hang out while you play with your settings is, well, embarassing.)

Then Marc Brigden, an Ottawa photographer with experience shooting street style at London Fashion Week, approached us. We jumped at the chance to tweak the street style model and have him shoot “cubicle style.” After all, this blog was born out of an urge to invite readers into some of the gossip/insider tips/styling suggestions that happen every day in our office. And what better way to get to know a photographer than to have him take your photo? Plus, visitors to our Chinatown office often remark that it’s fun and welcoming, hip but chill.
