At this time of year, there are trend reports popping up all over the place and it can be a bit overwhelming to think about all the new things one simply *must* go out and purchase. But we can’t completely duck what is arguably the biggest fashion season.
Here, Sarah Fischer offers a few pieces she believes are the easiest to add to your wardrobe for the change in season.

Pointy-toed pumps: I don’t think these will ever go out of style so invest in a classic pair. Ankle straps are big this season and so is the T-strap. I picked up these Ivanka Trump heels last year at Town Shoes as a birthday present to myself and I am in love! Ivanka makes very comfy shoes.
Anything leather: I have been avoiding this trend because I find it hard to find the right piece at an affordable price, especially since leather comes in and out of style. However, I don’t think the leather jacket will ever go out of style so this would be a good piece to invest in considering this is a very hot trend this fall. I picked up a leather coat a few years ago and my goal this season is to find more interesting ways to wear it, such as on top of a dress to add some edge. If I was considering another leather piece to add to my wardrobe, I would pick up a black leather peplum that would work well with any skinny pant.

Statement coat: I love statement pieces! I am one of those who helped crash the Target website last year when the Missoni collection dropped. I lucked out and picked up a fall coat that so far I haven’t had much chance to wear. I am looking forward to some cooler weather so I can bring this out! If you don’t want to go extreme, adding a classic, timeless structured trench is a great choice.
