Spring will be here in but a few days and we are so excited to update our wardrobes. We talked to fashionistas Kristy Weiber and Lisa Delorme who are behind Rent Frock Repeat, a dress rental service that allows you to get a couture look for a fraction of the price, to get their tips on spring fashion trends. From a gala evening to a girls’ night out – you can try some of your favourite designer’s gowns, as well as these spring trends, without committing the cost or the closet space!
Dramatic Florals
These aren’t your grandmother’s florals. These are bold, fashion forward florals steeped in drama. You’ll see floral patterns that are more abstract and vivid or even shocking, contrasting colour combinations.

Texture
Spring isn’t usually known for texture – we normally see simple fabrics in light shades or simple laces. But this year we are seeing texture taking the place of your standard pastel hues. For daytime wear, look for embellished fabric and seam or mesh detailing that gives dimension and adds unique twists to otherwise classic silhouettes. For evening, think sequins and rich, modern, embroidered lace that create a statement.

Saturated Colour
We’re seeing a break from the traditional pale shades and celebrating spring with bold hues and vivid, deeply saturated pops of colour. Even the traditional light shades will be brighter and richer.

Structured Silhouettes
Normally spring is associated with flowy, gauzy, sheer fabrics, but we’re seeing a more structured approach to dresses this year. They can still be fresh and light, but there’s definitely more drama with stiffer bodices, crisp pop-overs, architecturally inspired detailing, and crisp pleats.
