OPENING: TacoLot sets up sister shop on Gladstone Avenue as HANG 10, Cool California Cuisine

California style tacos with fresh salsas and sides adds some sunshine to a dreary stretch of Gladstone Avenue.

The graffiti-style HANG 10 sign went up last month and now TacoLot’s new sister shop — that doubles as its satellite production kitchen — is open for business. It is located at the corner of Bronson and Gladstone, a space that was fully equipped for large-quantity cooking when it was last Octogon Catering.

Inside HANG 10, the room is bright and simply decorated, with just a handful of tables and chairs and a big open kitchen. But all eyes are drawn to the cool surfer sunset mural along the largest wall. The warm glowing beach-bum scene sets the tone for this take-out shop and casual café dedicated to the art of fresh tacos, burritos, and tostadas. An assortment of fresh Suzy Q doughnuts are sold here, too, ensuring that Hintonburg’s taco/doughnut tradition can be duplicated by Centretown foodies.
