It seems like every month a new brewery is opening its doors. Last month it was Big Rig (Senators’ defenceman Chris Phillips’ new restaurant), and Cassel Brewing (located just outside of Ottawa’s borders in Casselman) will open for business on July 14 . The family is growing. Let’s all hug.

If you’re not the touchy-feely type, though, then we have just the thing to help you express how happy you are. A festival! And not just any festival — the first annual National Capital Craft Beer Week, which takes place August 10 to 18. The week features a ton of beer events, culminating in a two-day festival on August 17 and 18. (more…)
